Cycle Lab is an unique indoor cycle training experience.

Our studio is set up with actual road bikes (not spin bikes) to replicate authentic training. Utilizing the latest in science, software and equipment the Cycle Lab is the ultimate in all-weather, all-season, advanced cycle training.

Gus draws on his vast knowledge and expertise in sports training to develop world-class cycle training programs that maximise results for all fitness levels. All classes cater for every level, from absolute beginners to national level athletes.

At Cycle Lab we replicate a real road bike ride. We use real road bikes (or you can even bring your own bike if you prefer) ensuring you'll be training in the correct ride position, without the flywheel distorting your pedal stroke like you get on spin bikes. Our hardware is the most advanced on the market, highly responsive and accurate to simulate all conditions, from the authentic feel of a hill climb, right down to the type of road surface.

Our software keeps accurate track of your results and updates you throughout the ride, to give you real time feedback on your performance output, allowing you to hone your technique while you train. At Cycle Lab you are going to learn to be more efficient on the bike using correct cadence combined with watts. To add to your training experience, you will have personalised training goals to achieve for the session, keeping you on track and motivated throughout the class. Your ride report will be emailed to you after the session, or can be uploaded directly to Strava.

 

WHAT IS FTP AND HOW IS IT TESTED?
Functional Threshold Power (FTP) is one of the key training terms in cycling, and represents the highest possible power output an individual can sustain for 45 to 60 minutes of training.  Our advanced system utilises your FTP result to accurately personalise the intensity of your training, giving you the best possible results. An FTP test is run over a 20 minute session rather than a full hour, and as such the result is calculated from 95% of your average power output. FTP is a number top riders swear by as it's seen as a crucial figure in determining your overall cycling ability, and therefore by repeating the test throughout the year you will get a highly accurate way of measuring your training success.

CORPORATE AND TEAM TRAINING

Corporate Training Group sessions are available for companies that would like to offer group sessions to their employees or clients. Corporate Training has been shown to increase staff morale and team cohesion, improve work performance output, decrease sick days and improve overall staff and client satisfaction.
